sleep, sleep, sleep and more sleep...

well... that's what i've been doing lots these holidays... ironic that with more time, i have less time to actually do anything... like update my blog... hahaha... well... it's not that i haven't been kept busy during my oh-too-short waking hours... been wrapping up my video... been playing games on my pc... something which i haven't done ever since school started... chilled with great pals, imran and liza after helping liza out with her thesis which was really a down to the deadline thing... was to e-mail it by 5pm and we finished it at 4:58pm... so... yah... madness... but i like doing those kind of things... i see it as an involvement quite different from that which is required when doing art... well... not the kind i do when in school... but the kind i really do... where alot more of me is well... in the work... the thing with school is that they demand work and they want it way too fast to actually make the work any good in my usually high standards... passing the assignment is not a problem... satisfying my own vision of what my works are is... not many of my recent works are actually finished... they look finished only because i can make it look finished... it's all about the presentation i say... but they would have turned out quite differently if i had more time... now i am out of the mindset to actually finish them... so i just leave them as they are... as a testament to that particular point of time... i somehow always felt in letting a piece of work breathe... let it communicate with me and let me know what to do next... even when it is seemingly finished... that's why my better works take quite a long time to finish... not that i am lazy or anything... not with art at least... but i like to stand back and look at it... assess it... let it sit for a few days... and then continue work on it if i see fit... i can safely say that the last piece of major work that was actually finished was my 'a'level project... i can deem it finished because i cannot see other areas of developement or improvement without totally destroying it or the moment... my good friend hafiz might have something to say if he had seen it... but he didn't and well... the thing is dismantled now... don't know if the main piece is still stuck to the floor due to the excessive use of white glue... but yah... it's gone... all that's left are pictures of it which i proudly keep as a momento of my days in SRJC... now... that i have a bit... talking about SR... i have something to say about it... but i am quite hungry as it is now... and i have my burger from bazaar geylang which have been waiting for me in the kitchen... so... yah... i'll write about it in due time... later...
